Ilene Jaques Bambrough
June 20, 1933 — January 7, 2025
Ilene Jaques Bambrough, 91, passed away peacefully at her home of causes incident of age, surrounded by her loving family on January 7, 2025. She was joyfully reunited with her husband Dee, parents, sisters, grandsons, and many friends.
She was born June 20, 1933, to Glen Willis Jaques and Sylvia Hanney Jaques in Devils Slide, Utah. She was raised in Layton with her three sisters, Glenna, Shirley, and Barbara. She attended Davis County Schools and graduated from Davis High in 1951.
Ilene married Ronald Burnett and was blessed with two children. They later divorced.
She then married her high school sweetheart Dee, on April 4, 1964, in Elko, NV.
She worked as a civilian at HAFB until retiring.
Ilene was a fifth-generation grandmother who cared and loved her entire family. She was always more concerned and worried about everyone else rather than herself.
She enjoyed horse racing most of her life. She especially enjoyed her trips to Nevada to play the old school slots. Mom enjoyed traveling with her sister and family. She had many enjoyable and very memorable experiences during her travels to Cancun, Branson, Florida, Texas, Washington D.C., Williamsburg, Hawaii, Alaska, and California.
Mom was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed crafting ceramics. She will always be remembered for her homemade fudge, divinity, salsa, chicken noodle soup, and sweet and sour meatballs. She was an avid supporter of her entire family’s sporting events and extracurricular activities. She was also an avid Utah Jazz fan. Ilene was the last of the lunch bunch group of friends, Betty, Shanny, JaNean, and JoAnne.
Ilene is survived by her children, Rick (Deb) Burnett, Tammy (Robert) Fowers, and Kyle (Peggie) Bambrough; 5 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara (Jimmy) Love; brother-in-law, Allen (Shirley – deceased) Byrd; sister-in-law, Judy (Boyd – deceased) Bambrough; and brother-in-law, Don (Nadine) Bambrough; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dee; grandsons, Troy Fowers and Tyson Fowers; her parents; and sisters, Glenna and Shirley.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
