Robert Phillip Vigil

Feb 14, 2025

May 26, 1945 — February 10, 2025

A remarkable man gone too soon. Robert Phillip Vigil, 79, passed away February 10, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born May 26, 1945, in Pueblo, CO to Jose E “Joe” Vigil and Ella Mestas. He married the love of his life, Gloria Deherrera-Vigil. Together they would go on to have four children.

Robert was a remarkable man who could befriend anybody he came in contact with. Anyone who met Robert would agree. He was a true treasure and one of a kind. Robert was a skilled tradesman in road construction and concrete finishing. After finishing from that kind of work he would go on to work for Ogden City Cemetery as a groundskeeper. Where he would oversee the work of other cemetery workers and work release inmates as they cut the grass around headstones.

When he couldn’t work anymore, he would spend time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and horseback riding. After the death of his wife, Gloria, Robert would find comfort in talking with a group of ladies at his apartment complex. They would later refer to him as “Ringo” because he always wore his gold rings on his hands. Later on, one of those lucky ladies would be honored to be spending time with him. Later, they would wed. Kathy Bodily would now be Kathy Vigil. She made a great addition to the family and gave joy back into Robert’s life.

Robert is survived by his sister, Betty (Frank) Quintana of Pueblo, CO; his children: Robert (Janis) Vigil, Victor Vigil, Val Vigil, and Donna (Patrick) Archuleta all of Ogden, UT; his 10 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. His wife, Kathy Vigil of Ogden, UT, her children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Gloria; and his siblings: Reginald Vigil, Rita Gonzales, Lee Sena, and Sara Naranjo.
