Sharon Ruth Steed

Sharon Ruth Steed passed away peacefully on April 14, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born on April 20, 1939, to T. Joseph and Louise Miller Steed.
Sharon grew up in Davis County on a dairy farm in a loving family where she learned the value of hard work. She attended Syracuse Elementary, North Davis Junior High, and Davis High School. She went on to earn a degree in English from Utah State University.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sharon served a two-year mission in Finland and fulfilled many church callings throughout her life.
Sharon was an educator at heart. She taught English at Clearfield High School and later taught Business and Computer Education at Davis Applied Technology College (DATC), now known as DTC. Her students and colleagues remember her for her clarity, kindness, and dedication.
Sharon had a generous spirit and took a genuine interest in the lives of her nieces, nephews, and extended family. She had a deep love for animals–especially those in need of care.
A lover of music, Sharon played the piano and cherished classical compositions. She was an avid reader and found great joy in studying the scriptures.
She is survived by her brother Steven Steed, her sister Helen (Ed) Smedley, and three sisters-in-law: Barbara Steed, Kaye Steed, and Sharon Ross Steed. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Grant, Allan, and Richard; and two sisters, Eloise and Carolyn.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., followed by memorial services at 11:00 a.m. at the Russon Mortuary, 1585 West 300 South, Syracuse, Utah, 84075.
