Joanne Hadley Griffin

Joanne Hadley Griffin, our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2025, at the age of 90.

Joanne was born August 19, 1934, in Ogden, Utah to Irvin Joseph Hadley and Elizabeth Minerva Wells. She has two older sisters, Fern England and Doris Seamons. All of which have preceded her in death.

Joanne married Marcus Gordon Griffin on October 17, 1953. They were sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 17, 1958. Joanne and Marc lived most of their married lives in Clearfield, Utah. Marc passed away on June 22, 2007. In 2018, Joanne moved to Fairfield Village Independent Living in Layton, Utah. She lived there for 3 years before being moved to Fairfield Assisted Living.

Joanne was devoted to and loved her family. Her happiest years were spent with Marc and their three children, Cathy, Craig, and Chad. Joanne was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ and a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many callings and gave a lifetime of service to others. She will be remembered for her incredible resilience.

Joanne is survived by her children: Cathy Dumas, Craig (Karen) Griffin, Chad (Tina) Griffin, 16 Grandchildren, and 26 Great-Grandchildren.

Joanne is preceded in death by her husband Marc, her infant twin sons Brent and Kent and a daughter-in-law, Patrice Pettingill Griffin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Family and friends may visit Friday April 11 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment will be at the Clearfield Cemetery.
