Our beloved husband, father, brother, cousin, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend passed away from natural causes on Sunday, March 30, 2025. Jerry was born on August 30, 1943, to his parents William B. Hill and Mary Jane Syfert Hill of Bloomington, Illinois. When he was a child, his family moved to Southern California and when he was a Sophomore his family moved to Ogden, UT. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School Class Of 1962, making many lifelong friends and meeting his future wife, Sharron Kappelman. They were married on February 21, 1962, their marriage lasted 61 beautiful years and to that union they had three sons, Tracy (Deceased), Christen, and Dusty.

Jerry was employed at the Ogden City Fire Department for 27 years, where he made lifelong friends, retiring as Battalion Chief. He also had his own business, Jerry’s Appliance Repair, for many years. For the last 8 years he worked at Walmart at the Harrisville Store, and he always said, “They’ll hire anyone.”

Jerry and his wife ran the WFFL Little League football program in Ogden City for 12 years. He was also an Assistant Coach for Ben Lomond High School.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Sharron Kappelman Hill; sons, Christen Hill and Dusty Hill of Ogden, UT; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; his brother, Johnny Evan Davis of Marina Del Ray, CA; and his cousin, Debra Syfert Best of Sullivan, IL. We will miss him terribly.
