Kevin Neil Forbes

Kevin Neil Forbes, 72, passed away on September 21, 2024.

He was born to Neil and Donna Forbes on June 7, 1952, in Ogden at St. Benedict’s Hospital. Kevin was the oldest brother to Kerry Forbes, Kim Forbes, Denise Forbes, Doug Forbes, and Lester Neal (Forbes). He was preceded in death by his parents, Neil and Donna Forbes; nephew, Kameron Houser; and niece, Bobbie Jo Hart.

At a young age, Kevin met Darcy Cortes and they were married in 1972. Together they had two children, Jayson (Pam) Forbes and Brandi Forbes. Kevin leaves behind many other loved ones including grandchildren: Savannah (Jake) Bullock, Taylor Forbes, and Madison Forbes; nieces: Corinne Forbes, Brianna Forbes, Kylan Forbes, and Jamie Pattan; nephews: Zeus Forbes, Jeff (Kassie) Roberts, Brad Roberts, Justin Strickland; sister-in-law, Kamn Roberts; and great-nieces: Josephine Fox, Matheson Fox, Brooklynn Roberts, Josie Roberts, and Kalee Roberts.

Kevin attended Weber State University and the University of Phoenix where he received a degree in Business Administration. He spent the bulk of his four-decade professional career at Hill Air Force Base where he attended Air Command and Staff College and held a wide range of managerial and program management positions. He had several interests including aviation, geology, electrical theory, American history, vocabulary, and politics.

When Kevin wasn’t working, he enjoyed motorcycle riding, bodybuilding, camping, boating, traveling, hiking, and spoiling his Pepper dog. He was adamant about pet adoptions, so much that he adopted a cat he was allergic to.

Kevin was a life-long learner and compelled everyone around him to push themselves intellectually. His humor was colorful, bold, and unapologetic; yet, he was a loyal, hard-working, virtuous man who would always be there for his loved ones both day and night.

Kevin was a beloved husband, father, family man, and friend. He is gone from this current life, but he will not be forgotten because his spirit of hard work, intellectual curiosity, and ill-timed joke-telling lives on through those who loved him. He is now riding his motorcycle on the highway to heaven.

As per Kevin’s wishes, there will be no public funeral service. He preferred that any financial gifts be donated to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
