Curtis E. Smout

Curtis, 82, passed away September 18, 2024, he was the fourth child and third son of Marzula Jane Robson and Clifford John Smout. He was raised on the family Registered Guernsey dairy farm in Slaterville (complaining about milking those “damn cows”) night and morning. He loved the farm!

A 1960 graduate of Weber High School, he served an LDS Mission to the Central British Mission. He was married to Marian Stanger, for 49 years, 5 months and 1 day.

Curtis graduated from Weber State College and spent 33 years in higher education at Weber State and Salt Lake Community College, and more than 20 years with Myers Mortuary.

Active in Church programs, favorite was 10 years mission at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City.

Active in several civic programs, was a Board Member for Wasatch Peaks Credit Union.

He is survived by his children; Roger (Kristin) Smout, North Ogden; daughter-in-law, Heather Smout, Ogden; son, Timothy; and daughter, Jennie Stuart; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren; a brother Jim (Vicki) Smout, Scottsdale, AZ; one sister-in-law Shirley Smout of Marriott-Slaterville, wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Richard Smout, brothers; Jay C. (Fayrene) Smout, Ronald R. Smout and sister Myrna Meyerhoffer.

Funeral services for Curtis E. Smout will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11a.m. with a viewing prior from 9-10:30 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT.

Burial will be at the Ogden City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the LDS Perpetual Education Fund or do a random act of kindness or take someone to dinner.
