Raymond Bybee

1931 – 2024

Raymon Alma Bybee, 93 of Syracuse, Utah passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday August 28, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

Raymon was born April 27, 1931, to Raymond Curtis Bybee and Prisicilla Bybee (Hodson), in Ogden, Utah. Shortly after graduating high school Raymon joined the US Navy. This journey took him all over the world before settling back down to his Utah roots.

Raymon Married Reba Cathey on August 31, 1952, in Georgia they later divorced. Raymon married Ellen Talbot in October 1975; in the Oakland California temple they spent 39 years together before Ellen’s passing in 2014.

Raymon was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He found great joy in serving in various callings throughout his life, with a sincere passion for doing temple and genealogy work.

Raymon is survived by his five children Cathy L. Bybee, Lisa R. Smith, Toni R Button, David Bybee, Ronald T. Bybee, his 12 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Raymon is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Priscilla, his daughter Melinda Jane Bybee, brothers Delane Bybee, Curtis Bybee and sister Ellen Eagon.

Services will be Saturday, September 14, 2024, 1:30 pm, with a viewing prior 12:30-1:15 pm, at the Monterey Ward, 1350 S. 1800 W., Syracuse, UT.
