August 25, 1950 – October 10, 2024

Ogden – Diana Jean Sewell, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on October 10, 2024 with family and friends by her side. She passed due to a stroke, ultimately caused by complications of dementia.

Diana was born on August 25, 1950 in Ogden, Utah to William and Donna Shafer. From a young age, she exhibited a sense of creativity and adventure that led to a lifelong love of crafts and spending time outdoors. One of her favorite activities was camping and riding ATVs with family and friends.

She met Ron, the love of her life, in her youth and their friendship blossomed and resulted in 56 years of marriage beginning March 16, 1968. They were later sealed in the Ogden temple on December 11, 1982. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. On any given day, she could be found sewing a costume for the next school activity, playing a board game with family, or simply cooking a meal for a neighbor. She loved being active and was always engaged in service to those around her, regardless of the task at hand.

Diana spent 25 years working at Riverdale Elementary School with the majority of her career spent as the school secretary. She enjoyed her interaction with teachers, staff, and students. She took great pride in following up with students throughout the years who had attended the school.

She was a lifelong, dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various church callings throughout the years and remembered fondly her time and adventures spent with the young women of the church. She carried a zeal for the church throughout her life and was often found reading the scriptures each evening throughout her later years.

Diana is survived by her husband, Ron, her daughters Bobbi Edmunds (Mark), Char Wolverton (Troy); her sons Nathan Sewell (Laura), and Brandon Sewell (Julie), along with 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Christine Olsen and Connie Bachman.
