Kaye Madlynne Protzman Pryor

Kaye Madlynne Protzman Pryor aged 83 passed away peacefully at her home on October 3rd 2024 surrounded by her family. She was a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother and friend whom will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Kaye was born on February 2nd 1941 in Ogden, Utah the youngest daughter of Paul Protzman and Maxine Nelson. She lived in North Ogden, Vernal, Las Vegas, and Layton.

Kaye graduated from Utah State University with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education.

Throughout her life she was known for her hard work, dedication, and passion for her family. She was a devoted mother, wife, sister, adoring grandmother and great grandmother. Kaye loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She never gave up on people no matter their struggles or personal difficulties and loved them unconditionally.

Kaye was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved going to the temple with her husband, Larry. They were called as temple workers and served several service missions.

Kaye married Merlin Richens on April 11th, 1958. They were later divorced. She married Larry Pryor on December 23rd, 1984. They were afterward sealed in the Las Vegas LDS Temple on August 23rd, 1993.

Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Maxine; brother, Marvin; sisters, Trudy and Faye.

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry; children, Greg Richens, Jeff Richens, Ken (Darlene) Richens, Brad Richens, David (Cindy) Richens, Suzy (Barry) Heugly; step daughters, Michelle Osmer (Eric), Tracy Larson (Ron), Wendy Zarndt; her little brother, Grant (Linda) Protzman. She left a wonderful legacy of 37 grandchildren and 40 great grand grandchildren.

A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday, October 11, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, October 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the LDS Ward Chapel on 1954 East Antelope Drive, Layton Utah. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12th at noon at the same location. Interment will be at Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.
