Cheryl Reeder Carbine
Cheryl Reeder Carbine, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 23rd in St. George, Utah at the age of 77. Cheryl was born April 22, 1947, in Logan, Utah, to John Thomas Reeder and Leora Hurst Reeder.
Cheryl was sealed for time and all eternity to Eugene Z. Carbine on November 3, 1967 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, beginning an eternal partnership and growing a family that became the center of her life. She loved her children and grandchildren fiercely.
After raising their children in Bountiful, Utah, Eugene and Cheryl built a home with their own hands in 1996 and moved to Uintah, Utah, where they resided until they relocated to St. George, Utah in 2021.
She served faithfully, her entire life, in many different callings, as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked tirelessly in the scouting program, encouraging countless boys to achieve their Eagle Scout award. She also planned epic ward & stake activities, bringing joy to all who attended.
Eugene and Cheryl faithfully served two LDS missions together, one in Lubbock, Texas and one in Orlando, Florida. She loved genealogy and temple work. She spent countless hours compiling and writing the histories of her ancestors.
Cheryl was a bright light, always with a smile and loved by all who knew her. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was adored by her loving husband, children, and grandchildren. Cheryl leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service. She will be deeply missed.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Eugene, and children: Janene Musgrave (Mike) of Layton, UT; Eldon Carbine of Vernal, UT; Heather Record (Stephen) of Uintah, UT; James Carbine (Liz) of Petersboro, UT; and Jonathan Carbine (Holly) of Layton, UT. She is also survived by her sisters Sharlene Jorgensen and Marsha Murray and brother Kevin Reeder, as well as 20 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother; Thomas Reeder.
Her life will be celebrated with a viewing on Thursday, December 5th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6660 S 1775 E Uintah, UT. A viewing will be held at the same location on Friday, December 6th from 9:30am-10:30am followed by a funeral at 11:00am. Interment will be at the Wellsville City Cemetery.
