June Agren Brown

HARRISVILLEâ€â€™June Agren Brown, 105 years old, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024, at Our House Assisted Living in Ogden of causes incident to age.
June was born June 25, 1919, in Ogden City (Harrisville), the daughter of Samantha Shurtleff and Stephen Andrew Agren. She was married to H Kenneth Daniels Brown on August 4, 1942, in the Salt Lake Temple.
Mom lived in the Harrisville area most of her life and graduated from Weber High School. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in education at Utah State.
June was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served many callings faithfully including the first Stake Relief Society President in the newly organized Harrisville Stake. She also played the piano and organ. She served as a temple worker at the Ogden Temple for seven years. Mom enjoyed being a member of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She was also the 1st Attendant in the 24th of July Parade.
Starting in 1941, June taught school from 5th to 10th grade in North Ogden and Wahlquist Jr High. She stopped teaching to have her family and returned as a kindergarten teacher in 1955 at Mt View for 19 more years.
Mom/Grandma loved making homemade candy, cookies, quilting, sewing, and cooking. She was an excellent cook! Her greatest joy besides the Gospel of Jesus Christ was her family!!!! She loved camping, traveling, spending time at the cabin and PLAYING GAMES!!
Surviving are her sons, Bruce (Jean) Brown, and Brent (Bonnie) Brown, both of Harrisville; daughter-in-law, Christine Brown, Huntsville; 23 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way; and 7 great-great-grandchildren with 2 on the way. June was preceded in death by her husband; son, Christopher; and seven siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel, 435 West Harrisville Road, Harrisville. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
