Stephen Eddie Duran

Stephen Eddie Duran was born on April 28, 1986, in Ogden, Utah. He departed this earthly realm on November 20, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and memories.

A machinist by trade, Stephen worked for Williams International, Peterson, and True Position.

Eddie was an amazing husband to his amazing wife, Michelle, married for 16 years together for 21 years. He always looked on the bright side even during hard times. He loved machining and loved his life even with the difficulties. He wanted to live a long life.

Stephen was educated at Roy High School, Washington High School, and Weber Applied Technology College. His early years were marked by his adventurous spirit, a character forged through a love for skateboarding, snowboarding, fishing, hiking, and the joy of video gaming. He was a creative soul drawing passion into life through calligraphy and art.

Stephen’s proudest accomplishment was his role as a father. He cherished every moment spent with his beloved daughter, Chloe. Whether casting lines while fishing, exploring rugged trails during hikes, or a basketball game in their backyard. As her flag football coach, Stephen not only taught Chloe the fundamentals of the game but also imparted life lessons in resilience and teamwork. They also spent time playing pickleball and video games or strumming on the guitar.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle L. (Palecek) Duran; his daughter, Chloe; his mother, Lucy Bordley and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He loved his extended family. Stephen was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Bordley, son, Derek Duran, and two cousins he considered as siblings, Sophie and Miguel.

Occasionally, only a few family members asked how he was doing and only a few kept in touch. It’s too late now to tell him you loved him. Or cared about him.

In celebration of his life, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass honoring Stephen’s life will take place on Friday, November 29, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven, Utah, beginning at 11 AM.

He struggled with the disease of addiction for too long. He tried to get better, but that disease is a beast. Addiction is complex and misunderstood. On behalf of my son, I will call or text someone to let them know I care about them before it’s too late.

I will miss the hugs and kisses you gave me every time we got together. I will miss his regular phone calls. You are now with me always and I know you are safe. You are with Jesus.
