September 10, 1978 — November 14, 2024

Sharon Lynne Child returned to Heaven on November 14, 2024, after struggling with Alzheimer’s, with her many loving family members embracing her and caring for her along the way. Her unconditional love and service will be forever remembered and carried on by those who loved her.

Sharon was born on September 10th, 1938, in Ogden Utah, to Mark and Netta Child. She enjoyed spending her school year in Ogden and her summers in Kanesville on the Andersons farm. It was there she met Loyal Child her husband of sixty-eight years.

She graduated from Weber High School. Sharon and Loyal married in the Salt Lake temple on November 21st, 1956. They had five children: Boyd Child (Bobbi), Anita Rose (Brent), Lynette Pontius (Gary), Marcie Creager (Jack) and Jay Child (Laura); 18 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Each felt her constant love and adoration.

She was preceded in death by her brother Myron and is survived by her sister Judy and her brothers Francis, Mark and Rodney.

Sharon received her associate’s degree in nursing and worked at Ogden Clinic as a pediatric nurse for thirty plus years. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints She faithfully served in Young Women’s and Primary for many years. She also enjoyed serving in Relief Society, at the Peachtree Assisted Living Center and attending Utah Daughters of the Pioneers.

Mom loved working in her flower gardens, canning and sharing her cooking with everyone. She always wanted everyone together and would cook for and plan many family gatherings such as Easter egg hunts, Christmas parties, camping and weeks up at her cabin in Bear Lake Idaho.

Her daughters were by her side daily taking care of her, loving her and greatly enjoying helping her. Sharon’s family would like to thank all who supported and cared for her including Applegate Home care.
