Shirlene McIntyre Wright
March 22, 1934 — May 24, 2024
Shirlene McIntyre Wright, 90, passed away peacefully at her home on May 24, 2024.
She was born on March 22, 1934, in Bountiful, UT, to Clyde and Ruth McIntyre, the oldest of four children. She grew up in Centerville and graduated from Davis High School in 1952. She loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. She performed with her sister Marjorie on many occasions including singing on the radio.
She later met and fell in love with Loren Rollo Wright. They were married on September 24, 1954, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and shared 68 wonderful years together. They raised six children in their Washington Terrace home, David (Irene) Wright, Ricky Wright, Lila (Wayne) Santistevan, Barbara Edwards, Janet (Brian) Bishop, and Cheryl (Bobby) Mack.
Shirlene had a deep love for her family and found great joy in spending time with them. She always had a sweet smile and was kind to everyone around her.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. She was often called upon to accompany others on the piano or organ for church meetings and various performances.
Her hobbies included camping, playing the piano, doing puzzles, but most of all, gardening. She couldn’t wait for the snow to melt so she could start working in her yard and putting out her lawn decorations.
Shirlene is survived by her children, 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by her sister, Kay Brown and brother, Dale McIntyre. Preceded in death are her husband, parents, sister, and a grandson.
