DONALD F. BERRYMAN

Donald F. Berryman was born March 24, 1942, to Revere and Wilma Berryman in Alamosa, Colorado. He passed on March 27, 2024. He was one of five children. His siblings were Linda, Larry, Gene, and Wyllie. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. He grew up on a ranch near Mosca, Colorado. He enjoyed ranch life despite the hard work and cold temperatures. While growing up in Alamosa he and his brothers were involved in many athletic endeavors, including track and field, football, and basketball. The Berryman home was filled with many ribbons and accolades from sporting events. He enjoyed music and he learned to play the guitar.

He served in the Air Force from February 4, 1963, and was honorably discharged as an Airman First Class on February 3, 1969. He received three medals for his service.

He was skilled at working on machinery and automobiles. He had a car collection including a 1942 Ford Hot Rod, which he painted himself. He loved and attended many car shows, even traveling out of state.

He was employed for 30 years at Hill Air Force Base after his discharge from the Air Force. There he did what he loved doing best; fixing all kinds of machines from fire engines to automobiles and anything else that broke.

Donnie was the last of his siblings to pass. He will be missed by his many cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends, as well as many other people around town he knew especially members of the retired group of former coworkers that he would frequently gather with for breakfast.

Services will be held on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden, UT, 84403. Visitation will begin at 10 am followed by graveside service at 11 am.
