RYAN ERIC DAHL

Jul 2, 2024

1996 – 2024

RYAN ERIC DAHL, 28, passed away June 28, 2024 due to injuries sustained in an accident.

Ryan was born June 5, 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah to David M Dahl and Anette Jorgensen Dahl. He married Jamie Marie Porter in the Brigham City Temple on July 28, 2017. They are the parents of Emmett Philip (3) and Oakley Marie (1).

Ryan lived his entire life in Roy Utah, except for two years when he served in the Ohio Cincinnati Mission where he made many friends and influenced countless people for good. He graduated from Roy High School and seminary. He also graduated from Weber State University in 2023, with a degree in Engineering Technology, and was working on his Master’s program at the time of his death. He was employed by Chromalox Inc. in Ogden Utah. He loved the outdoors and camping and received the award of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America. He loved family gatherings, camps, trips, fishing, and boating. He especially loved fishing in Alaska. He learned wood working as an occupation from a friend, and made good use of that skill in remodeling his own house and making projects for others. He enjoyed working on anything mechanical, and would help fix cars for many friends and family. Ryan worked to be self-sufficient keeping beehives, gardening, canning and tried raising chickens.

Ryan and Jamie met in high school where they were “parent trapped” by cousin and good friend Sydnee when they went to prom in 2014. They fell in love. Then Ryan left on his mission and Jamie went to USU. When he came home within two weeks they knew they wanted to get married. Before having kids they went on countless crazy adventures, a lot of them consisted of driving to St. George and back for a burrito. They lived what Ryan would always say was “a beautiful life”. If anyone were to look through his photo roll you would see pictures of his wife, children and projects he was working on for other people. Words can’t sum up what an amazing husband and father he was.

Ryan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a strong testimony of and a relationship with the Lord. He served in many callings of service, especially with the youth. He supported Jamie as she also served. He is the best father, and loved caring for, teaching, and raising Emmett and Oakley. He was a buddy to his brothers, brothers-in-law, and his sisters and sister-in-law, and many friends and co-workers.

Ryan lived a life of service. He would help anyone at any time with whatever was needed. He could fix most everything. Most who knew him have stories of his willingness to lend a hand to them. On the morning of the accident, care-givers related stories of his deflecting attention from himself and his pain, to them and asked them to check on Jamie. As a continuation of his life of service, he donated organs at his passing.

Ryan is survived by his wife, Jamie, their children, Emmett and Oakley, his parents David and Anette, and siblings: Julie Dahl (Matt Sevy) – Roy; Bryce (Caitlyn) Dahl – Mapleton; Adam (Megan) Dahl – West Point; Chris (Melissa) Petersen – St. George; Hailey (Adam) Lindberg – Roy. He is also survived by Jamie’s parents, Jared and Janice Porter of Roy; sister-in-law Jill (Thomas) Griffin – Salt Lake; brothers-in-law Jake Porter – Roy, Justin (Layla) Porter – Ogden. He is survived by 13 nieces and nephews who adored Uncle Ryan. He is also survived by his life-long friend, Bryan Brinton. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Blair and Ilene Dahl, and Philip and Darlene Jorgensen.

A viewing will be held at Roy West Stake Center, 5080 South 3100 West, Roy Utah on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 6-8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the Roy West Stake Center on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM with a viewing prior from 8:30 – 9:30 AM at the church. Interment to follow at Roy City Cemetery.
