Brock Hurt

1951 — 2024

Brock Eugene Hurt, our loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully at McKay Dee hospital on January 18, 2024. He was born December 7, 1951, in Ashton, Idaho to Everett Jackson Hurt and Barbara Jean Crump.

He spent his childhood growing up in Grace, Idaho. He was a good athlete and played baseball, football, and basketball. Brock graduated from Grace High School where he was proud to be a Grace Red Devil and made many lifelong friends. He attended college at Idaho State University for two years. Following this, Brock started working at Utah Power and Light where he became a Journeyman Lineman. He was a proud member of the Executive Board of IBEW Local 57. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing weekly with friends. He could often be found watching “Gunsmoke” while enjoying a Diet Coke.

On October 26, 1973, Brock married the love of his life, Marilyn Hulse. They recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. He and Marilyn raised two daughters, Brandi and Bree, whom he adored with all his heart. He doted over and spoiled his girls.

Brock is survived by his sweetheart, Marilyn. He is also survived by his beloved daughters, Brandi (Ben) Harmston and Bree (Jay) Carnahan. He also leaves behind his sweet grandchildren, Brooklyn, Hannah, Josh and Jack Stuart, and Kennedy, London and Grant Carnahan. He is also survived by his older brothers, Skip and Rick Hurt. Brock was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Barbara Hurt, and his angel granddaughter, Abbey Stuart.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024, 12noon with a viewing prior 10:30-11:30am at the Poplar 2nd Ward, 2123 N. 2000 W, Farr West, UT. A viewing will be held Monday, January 22, 2024, 6-8pm at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden, Utah. Interment will be at the Plain City Cemetery, 4373 W. 1975 N., Plain City, Utah.
