Louise Sessions
June 8, 1936 — December 25, 2024
Louise Sessions, 88, of Clinton, passed away on Christmas Day, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Louise was born on June 8, 1936, to Keith and Bonnie (Sevy) Whitelock in Panguitch, Utah. She was raised in Ogden.
Louise married Steve Sessions on November 4, 1972. They were married for 52 years and were happily sealed for time and all eternity on September 11, 2014, in the Brigham City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She spent her working years at Bob’s Café, Wolfe’s Sporting Goods, Cummings Sign Company, Hill Air Force Base, and as a Special Education elementary teacher’s assistant.
Throughout her life, Louise enjoyed camping, fishing, crocheting, trips to Henry, Idaho, and working in the yard. Louise helped her parents build and run Whitelock’s Marine Campground and Café on the Blackfoot Reservoir for 45 years. She has always been an avid Utah Jazz fan and enjoyed her weekly bingo outing with friends.
She was a member of the Beehive Model A Club of Northern Utah for 41 years and loved driving her 1929 Model A Ford pickup. Louise started the decoration of the Clinton City Cemetery luminaries 32 years ago at Christmas time. She was Chairman of the Clinton Days parade for three years and Louise and her husband were yearly camp hosts at Cottonwood Campground for 16 years in Ellis, Idaho during the Steelhead run on the Salmon River.
Louise held various positions in The Church of Latter-day Saints and her favorite was Relief Society Homemaking Leader where she taught many women beautiful fun crafts and life skills.
Louise wrote beautiful poetry and one of her poems, “The Answer” was published. She loved to travel and has been to New York, Branson, Missouri, the Northern Redwoods, Washington, D.C., Disneyland, and also enjoyed several cruises.
Louise loved her life as a grandmother and every one of her grandchildren loved her dearly.
In addition to her husband, Steve, Louise is survived by her sister Karen (Pat) Hillaker and brother Jim (Kari-Jo-decd) Whitelock, her children, Barbara (Doyle-decd) Langston of Kaysville; Randy (Annette) Hadlock, Wayan, ID; Teresa (Chuck) Walker, West Haven; Roxanne (Dave) Jones, Plain City, and Julie (Troy) Workman, Roy, 20 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Louise has 45 nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
Louise was proceeded in death by her parents and siblings Norman (Beth) Sevy, Mavis Strange, Bonnie (Vern) Elwood, Barbara (Johnny) Anderson, Ron Whitelock, and sister-in-law Keri-Jo Whitelock, her son-in-law Doyle Langston, a granddaughter, a grandson, and a great grandson.
Louise was friendly and kind, people loved her everywhere she went. She touched many lives with her unique funny personality. She will be greatly missed by her family who loved her deeply and by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked you donate to the Utah Huntsman Cancer Foundation.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at the Clinton 31st Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1828 North 3000 West. Friends may visit with family on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Lindquist’s Syracuse Mortuary. 869 South 2000 West, Syracuse, and on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the church.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery, 20th Street and Monroe Avenue, Ogden UT.
