Janeen K. Bitton
1945 — 2024
Janeen (Kapp) Bitton, age 79, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2024. Janeen always had the sweetest presence in a room, and her family will remember her as gentle and devoted. She was born and raised in Ogden, UT, though lived the majority of her life in Yorba Linda and Vista, California. In 2016, she and her husband Dennis retired in St. George, UT, but recently returned together to their hometown of Ogden.
Janeen loved music and dance. She took classes as a young girl, marched with the dance team in high school, and returned to tap dance throughout her sixties and early seventies. She enjoyed performing with her tap group at recitals, as well as for the residents of various senior living facilities in San Diego County and Southern Utah.
Janeen was easygoing. She could regularly be heard whistling or humming a tune around the house, and she loved a good laugh. In addition to being a wife and the mother of four children, she worked for primary care offices and was continuously involved with, and dedicated to, her church callings. It was no secret that Janeen enjoyed being an exceptional wife and the kind of mother and grandmother who supported her family in their individual journeys, all while loving each and every one of them dearly. We will miss and love her always.
Janeen is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dennis G. Bitton (who has always told her he was the luckiest man because he had the best wife in the world). She is also survived by her children, David (Jackie) Bitton, Colby (Jessica) Bitton, Jodie (Santiago) Gamboa, and Jeff (Audre) Bitton; her eight grandchildren; her two great-grandchildren; and her older brother, Alden Kapp of West Jordan, UT.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
The family would also like to thank the staff of Hidden Valley Assisted Living and Memory care as well as the staff of Inspirations Hospice.
