Kenneth LeRoy Jackson
1939 – 2024
Kenneth LeRoy Jackson passed away on December 14, 2024 at the age of 85. Born on April 21, 1939, in Reno, NV. Shortly thereafter his family moved to North Ogden, Utah where he and his family raised and harvested cherry orchards. Ken spent a fulfilling life marked with notable accomplishments, genuine friendships, and an unyielding love for his family.
Ken attended Weber High School where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Linda Rae Willson. Ken and Linda were married for 65 years until Linda’s passing in October of 2023. Together they had three sons Lynn LeRoy Jackson, Nedd Allan Jackson, Clyde Lonn Jackson and one daughter Joy Jackson.
At Weber High Ken was recognized as a top running back during the Little Brown Jug rivalry game vs. Ogden High. He continued playing on the grid iron at Weber State College and again found success on the football team as a running back and punt returner. Wanting to pursue a degree in engineering, he enrolled at the University of Utah and graduated near the top of his class.
Professionally, Ken worked at Hill Field, TRW, and Northrop where he made his mark in the field of Missile Engineering. His innovative ideas and relentless pursuit of excellence allowed him to make significant contributions to the industry.
Besides being an Engineer Ken loved working long hours on the ranch in Plain City, Utah where he and Linda raised their four children. Ken, with his boys in tow, could be found counting cows, bailing hay, or fixing fence posts any hour of the day. Ken passed down his natural athleticism to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren which kept him busy attending their sporting events. He also proudly watched his grandchildren in robotic competitions and competitive dancing, something he thoroughly enjoyed.
Ken is survived by two sons Lynn (Janet) Jackson and Clyde Lonn Jackson, daughter in law Jeanenne Jackson Chadwick, and daughter Joy Jackson. Nine grandchildren and Twenty-Five great grandchildren.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents and sister JoAnn Gardner, wife Linda Rae Willson Jackson and son Nedd Allan (Jeanenne) Jackson.
