In Loving Memory of Carl Wilford Barney Jr.
Born November 15, 1938, to Carl Wilford Barney and Eva Barney in Salt Lake City, Utah. He passed away on December 5, 2024. Carl married Evangeline Barney on October 2nd, 1959, in the Salt Lake Temple. He devoted his life to his beloved wife of 65 years. Carl’s life was a testament to the power of family, faith, and perseverance.
He served in the US Marine Corps at Camp Pendelton, California.
Throughout his life he was a general contractor, bricklayer, and business owner. He built multiple homes, hotels, office buildings, schools, and Mountain View Health Services.
His family tree grew to include 36 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family horseback riding, camping, fishing and hunting. His presence at many family gatherings was the cornerstone of storytelling, laughter, and love.
His greatest accomplishment was how he instilled within each of his children the importance of hard work. We often complained but we learned to work hard for everything that we wanted. His family is a testament to hard work and supporting each other.
Carl and Evangeline went on a service mission in 2014 for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They served in the Nevada Las Vegas West Welfare Mission at the Delmar Valley Cattle Co Cleveland Ranch. Carl found peace and strength in his faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and eldest son.
He is survived by wife, 11 children, 36 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren
