Vernona Murray Olson

On Monday, August 12, 2024, Vernona Murray Olsen, 94, returned home to her Heavenly Father and her loved ones. Vernona was born to Evon Thorpe and Martha Mifflin Murray on October 19, 1929, in Preston, Idaho.

She attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ogden High School. She attended Weber State College where she met her husband, J. Keith Olsen. They were married on February 16, 1951, in the Salt Lake Temple. From this marriage three sons were born.

As her family grew, she always looked forward to being able to spend time with them. In her own quiet way, she devoted her life to her family and would give her all for each of them.

Vernona was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One of her favorite callings was serving as the Jr. Sunday School Coordinator.

Vernona is survived by her sons, Murray (Janalee) Olsen, Bruce (Marla) Olsen; 19 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. She was also thankful for her special relationship with her three nieces, Ava, Sherry, and Cathy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; son, Ross K. Olsen; daughter-in-law, Bonnie K. Olsen; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; her parents; sister, Ava; and two brothers, Quinn and Jimmy.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N. Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
