Wesley Eugene Nickel
1935 – 2023
Wesley Eugene Nickel, of Pahrump, Nevada, previously of Clearfield, Utah passed away peacefully at his home on October 28, 2023. He was born in Page, Nebraska, on January 4, 1935, to Plen and Eva Ulry Nickel. They moved the family from Page, Nebraska to Caldwell, Idaho in 1950.
In 1953, he met and married the love of his life, Betty Irene Breshears. They lived in Caldwell, ID for many years. In 1974, the Union Pacific Railroad moved them to Clearfield, Utah where they lived before Wes and Betty moved to Pahrump, NV in 2020.
Wesley worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 44 years and after retiring from the railroad, he went to work for Manheim Auto Auction and retired after 13 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Wesley was very talented at writing country music and was proud that some of his songs were recorded and published.
He was preceded in death by his son, Calvin Nickel, brother, Franklin Nickel, and parents, Plen and Eva Nickel.
Wesley is survived by his wife, Betty of 70 years their daughters: Sherrie (Monty) Spaulding, Deanna (Darrell) Dandoy (both of Pahrump, NV), Kimberly (Steve) Peacock of Navarre, FL, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for the Spring of 2024 in Utah.
