Paul Francis Williams

Paul Francis Williams, passed away on February 20, 2023 after a good, long life of nearly 98 years. He was the beloved patriarch of a family of 60+ offspring who will miss him very much. They take comfort in knowing he is reunited with his parents, a brother and many other family members and friends from Park City and Ogden.

He was born at home in Park City on July 30, 1925, the elder son of Paul Marion Williams and Mary Baxter. He graduated from Park City High School, served a year in the Merchant Marine and four years in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. He was later recalled by the Marine Corp for the Korean war. He married Betty Putman of Park City in 1948 and worked at the Judge Mine. Later he and his young family relocated to Salt Lake and then Ogden for a career in the Utah Highway Patrol. In retirement, he loved the Oregon coast, Monterey and Yellowstone.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom (Susie). He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Betty, and children Paul Tom, Susan (Dan, deceased) Taggart, Jon (Nancy) and Mark (Joni), 18 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

A funeral will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. with a one hour viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd., military honors will be accorded.
