Jay Levi Garner 1956-2023

Jay Levi Garner. 66, a lifelong resident of Hooper, died on June 9, 2023 at home. He was born July 26, 1956 in Ogden, Utah to Edwin Lynn and Catherine Parker Garner. He was the seventh of eight children. As a two-month-old infant, he contracted Polio and he suffered from the effects of it throughout his life. He spent much of his life working on the family farm where he was skilled in tractor and dairy farm work.

He was educated in Weber County schools.

Jay enjoyed animals and was seldom without a pet dog, and was happy socializing with friends in his man cave.

He worked for many years with a team of hard-working landscapers.

Jay is survived by his siblings: Edwin Garner, Cathye (Fred) Cox, and Carol Anne (Leon) Bennett of Hooper; Elaine (Gary) Lessig and Joan (Bruce) Cook of Layton; and John Garner of Ogden, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother Ned.

A graveside service will be held at the Hooper City Cemetery on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
