Feb 4, 2023

1964 – 2023

Our beautiful daughter, sister, mother and grandmother, Yvonne Willie Sant Rodgers, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on Monday January 30th 2023 at McKay Dee Hospital surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born October 26th 1964 in Ogden, Utah to Robert Ned Willie and Barbara Bingham Willie. Being part of a loving family in Hooper, Utah, she loved her brothers and sisters very much. As the eldest of six children, her youngest brother born when she was only seven, she always took on the role of “mother figure.”

She was very intelligent and had a love of learning. She had a great love for all animals and they were drawn to her. They responded to her kindness and love. She enjoyed riding horses and barrel racing. Yvonne loved to read, cook, and cross stitch. She loved camping, going to the sand dunes, boating, and spending time with her family. Yvonne was beautiful inside and out. She was a classy dresser, forever fashionable, and was always “dolled up”. She graduated from Roy High School and attended Weber State College. She was determined and driven. She had many different jobs and excelled in everything she did.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was an accomplished pianist and organist. She served in many church callings and was always willing to help. She loved her Heavenly Father. She was extremely spiritual and had a love for energy work and crystals.

She married Robert “Bobby” Sant and had three children, Stacie, Cameron (aka the golden child), and Colty. Her children brought her so much joy and love. She had three grandchildren, Kairi, Remy, and Indie, who were the love of her life. She and Bobby later divorced but always remained friends. She was engaged to Joe Kirk and came to love and adore his children, Brook and Mason.

Yvonne had many friends. She became an advocate for victims of domestic violence and was the Vice Executive Director of Passionate Wings, a non profit. She has been writing a book that will soon be published. She was working with several legislators on committees for domestic violence. She was on several podcasts sharing her story.

She is survived by her children, Stacie Anne Kirkland (Ja’ron), Cameron Robert Sant (Kiele), and Colten Gordon Sant (Sierra); her grandchildren, Kairi Kirkland, Remy Sant, and Indie Sant; her parents Ned and Barbara; her brothers and sister, Bryan Willie (Jodi), Mark Willie (Heidi), Pamela Richardson (Brian), Scott Willie (Cherryl), and Craig Willie (Lori). She loved her family, her children, and especially her grandchildren, and they loved her.
