Weber County Commission contracts representation for Douglas Lovell, funds design of Pineview Loop Trail improvement
OGDEN — The Weber County Board of Commissioners held a brief meeting Tuesday morning at the Weber Center, approving a contract with attorneys Colleen Coebergh and Julie George for indigent legal representation of Douglas Lovell in the convicted murderer's ongoing case. Last month, the Supreme Court upheld a state court ruling overturning Lovell’s death sentence. Lovell was convicted of the 1985 murder of Joyce Yost, a South Ogden woman who was killed to prevent her from testifying against him in a rape case.
