Lawmakers and advocates discuss bill aimed at solving violent crimes

SALT LAKE CITY — Lawmakers and advocates are looking to use this year's legislative session boost efforts by law enforcement agencies across the state to solve violent crimes. During a press conference at the Utah State Capitol Tuesday morning, legislators and advocates spoke with the regional press about H.B. 137, a bill to create a Violent Crime Clearance Rate Fund that would award grants to help law enforcement agencies across the state in solving crimes.
