Woman claims Ogden man had sex with her when she was 14

OGDEN — A 44-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after a woman accused him of having a sexual relationship with her when she was younger than 14 years old.

“She delayed in reporting it due to fear,” said Ogden Police Lt. Danielle Croyle.

Ogden police arrested Rex Leeroy Lewis and booked him Wednesday in the Weber County Jail where is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.

Croyle said several law enforcement agencies conducted the investigation because “the occurrences happened in various areas of the county.”

According to the charging documents, Lewis had sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 14 from 1995 to 1998.

He is charged with one count of rape of a child, four counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, two counts of sodomy on a child, all first-degree felonies; and one count of forcible sexual abuse of a child, a second-degree felony.

Each of the first-degree felonies has a mandatory sentence of 15 years to life at the Utah State Prison upon conviction. The second-degree felony carries a penalty of one to 15 years in the prison.
