Man charged with robbing maid at Ogden motel

OGDEN — Police have arrested a man on charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Frank Joe Rader, 24, was booked into the Weber County Jail, said Police Lt. Tony Fox. He remained in jail Thursday night, with bond set at $40,000. His first court appearance is set for today.

At 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, a maid was cleaning rooms at the River Inn, 1825 Washington Blvd., when a man approached her with a knife and demanded money, said Fox.

The maid, who was forced into a room, told Rader she didn’t have any money and he ordered her to give him her

cellphone, Fox said. She complied, and her assailant fled on foot.

A motel employee called police, said Fox. The maid was not injured.

Based on descriptions from witnesses, police found Rader in the 1600 block of Grant Avenue and took him into custody, Fox said.
