Layton burglary suspect driver to appear in court

FARMINGTON — The woman who police said drove the getaway car involved in a burglary at Clare Niederhauser’s home is expected to be in court today.

The Davis County Attorney’s Office this week filed one count of second-degree felony burglary against Yolanda Lee Gonzales, 40.

Gonzales was arrested in Salt Lake City on Feb. 6 and booked in the Davis County Jail without bail.

Layton police officers said she was driving the car that was parked in Niederhauser’s driveway when he came home and found a man, identified as Robert Santos Cruz, 47, with a crowbar coming out of his home.

Cruz also faces felony charges.
