Victim of fatal hit-and-run in Ogden ID'd

OGDEN — Police identified the victim of a fatal hit-and-run Monday on Wall Avenue as Paul David Saures, 56. They continue to ask the public for help regarding the incident.

The Ogden resident was pronounced dead at a local hospital after he was transported by ambulance following the hit-and-run in the 2600 block of Wall around 6:40 p.m. Monday.

Police initially said a car traveling southbound struck Saures while he crossed the street with his wife, and knocked him about 100 feet from the point of impact. Ogden Police Lt. Chad Ledford said Wednesday that the vehicle that struck Saures is now believed to have been a dark-colored mini-van. The vehicle showed no indication of braking, police said.

It has front-end damage and is missing a windshield wiper blade, which was left at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information is asked to call Weber Consolidated Dispatch at 801-395-8221.
