Ogden police find stolen truck within hours

OGDEN — Police recovered a stolen pickup truck when they spotted the thief and the vehicle stopped at a red light on Christmas Day.

Ogden Police Lt. Chad Ledford said officers arrested Paul Jesse Chavez, 47, at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 30th Street and Washington Boulevard for stealing a black 2006 Toyota Tundra.

The truck had been reported stolen a few hours earlier in Sunset. Police arrested Chavez without incident, and he was booked into Weber County Jail on a felony count of possession of stolen property.
