Event will benefit transplant group

WEST POINT — A “Pie”-K Turkey Trot and one-mile walk to raise funds for the Children’s Organ Transplant Association, a nonprofit organization, is set for Thanksgiving Day.

Funds raised will be in honor of James Andersen, 24, of West Point. Andersen received a double lung transplant on July 19 at the University of Utah Medical Center. He was put on the waiting list in February.

The race begins at 8 a.m. Nov. 22 at Loy Blake Park, 3500 W. 550 North, West Point. Registration is at 7:30 a.m.

A pie bake sale will be held at the same time. To preregister or to donate a pie, call Jill Stuart at 801-710-9782.
