Free classes on family budgeting

OGDEN — The public is invited to participate in several free classes at Cottages of Hope, 2724 Washington Blvd., during November.

“Budget 101” will be offered from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. every Wednesday, taught by Cottages of Hope and Bank of Utah. This free class focuses on helping a household to create its first budget.

A “Stretch Your Bucks Without Breaking Your Backs” class will be taught by Utah State University Extension Services and Cottages of Hope.

The course helps household members to understand the basics of sound money management. It will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays.

Enrollment is best done online at uidan.org or by calling 801-393-4011.

“Stretch Your Bucks at the Grocery Store” will be taught from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 5.

The course, taught by the USU Extension Services Weber County Nutrition Program, will help plan nutritious meals on a budget. Participants will get a free menu and samples of food items prepared.

Enrollment is preferred by calling 801-393-4011; however ,walk-ins are welcome.
