Bus driver taking Utah kids to Disneyland charged with DUI

CEDAR CITY -- Charges have been filed against a charter bus driver police say had drugs in his system just before he was to take a group of recent southern Utah high school graduates to Disneyland.

Court documents show 30-year-old Brandon Gillman faces two felony counts for possession of cocaine and the painkiller Endocet, and a misdemeanor count for possession of the sleeping pill Zolpidem. He also faces misdemeanors for possessing drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence.

Students from Canyon View High School were about to board a bus after graduation May 24 when police say a K-9 alerted to drugs in Gillman's backpack.

Police say Gillman failed sobriety tests and was arrested. No telephone number or attorney are listed for him.

Calls to bus company Utah Trailways weren't immediately returned Thursday.
