Toddler found in Weber River ID'd as Corbin Anderson

OGDEN  -- A body found in the Weber River is being identified as the young child who drowned in fast-moving water.

Ogden Police Lt. Danielle Croyle says Tuesday the state medical examiner has confirmed the body is 4-year-old Corbin Anderson of Layton.

Croyle says Corbin's death is considered an accidental drowning, although a final autopsy report is not expected for a few weeks.

Corbin fell into the Weber River in Ogden on April 28 while his family was taking pictures on the edge of the water.

Croyle says Corbin was found about a quarter-mile downriver in a spot where the water would have been more than six feet deep.

Search crews found the body after diverting the river to lower the water. More than 100 people helped with the search effort.
