Car lands in Weber River; minor injuries for driver

RIVERDALE -- A Riverdale woman suffered minor injuries Thursday evening after her car rolled into the Weber River.

The woman was leaving the Riverside Village Mobile Home Park near 4400 S. Weber River Drive about 5:30 p.m. when police believe she had a medical problem and drove straight toward the river, which is across the street from the park, said Riverdale Police Sgt. Casey Warren.

The car hit a tree and rolled down an embankment, ending up on its roof and partly in the river.

The woman was wearing her seat belt, which helped keep her head above water, Warren said. A passer-by helped her stay that way until fire crews could extricate her from the car.

The woman was taken to Ogden Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
